O.J. Simpson: Colin Kaepernick Made A 'Mistake' Kneeling To The Flag

O.J. Simpson gave his first post-prison interview with Buffalo News and had a few things to say about former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick's protest.

Simpson was also a team member of the 49ers back in his hay day when he was a running back. So, asking "The Juice" about Kaepernick -- who made the controversial decision to kneel during "The Star-Spangled Banner" during a 49ers game in 2016 as a way to protest police brutality and racism -- wasn't a bad idea. However, Simpson's response to Kap has left many Kap supporters shaking their heads.

Though Simpson respects why Kap did what he did, "The Juice" believes that the way he went about protesting wasn't done the right way. "I think Colin made a mistake," Simpson said. "I really appreciate what he was trying to say. I thought he made a bad choice in attacking the flag.

"I grew up at a time when deacons were in the KKK. I don't disrespect the Bible because of those guys. The flag shouldn't be disrespected because of what cops do. The flag represents what we want America to be."

Simpson once again reiterated that he understands why Kap kneeled during "The Star-Spangled Banner." But, he still believes that there was another way that the "GQ Person Of The Year" could have voiced his opinion. “I’m a firm believer of doing what you think is right, but I would always stand for the flag,” Simpson added.

Simpson is an extremely controversial figure -- and for FAR worse reasons -- than Kaepernick. There's just no comparison. So, we're sure that his opinions about this matter will have much significance to others...
